spring colors!...and fun with matching accessories…

Spring 2010 Pantone colors are out! They were released a few weeks ago at fashion week.

Take a look…

These are the colors that the experts say will be big in spring…

See any that you love? Colors you’d use for your wedding?

Also, check out this awesome site to put together the colors for your wedding, Dessy's Pantone Site!

You can explore how colors work together…upload images…and share your ideas and final product with your vendors! It's pretty great...

Dessy is a manufacturer of bridesmaid dresses (cute and stylish ones!) as well as destination gowns, flower girl dresses and more.

{Quilted Tote and Flip Flops from Dessy.com}

They recently released a couple of cute flip flops for only $15. They are must see (and if you buy dresses from there, they could match perfectly, ingenious!)! They also other coordinating accessories such as clutches, totes, & classic pearl jewelry.

Lastly, they have coordinating “doll dresses” for your flower girl. For $25 you can give your flower girl a memorable gift that matches what she will wear on your big day made just for her favorite doll….great idea…

Love it!

Rainy Day Weddings...

Rainy day in Bloomington today…and I started to think about rainy wedding days.
Even thought its said to be good luck to have rain on your wedding day, many brides-to-be start to cringe when they see rain drops predicted for their big day.

A way to brighten the day and have some fun might be beautiful umbrellas...for the couple, for the bride, for the bridal party, or guests! I just love the pictures of a kissing couple under the umbrella {rain or shine!}. Check out these fantastic options!

Pamela's Parasols: http://www.pamelasparasols.com/ {above}

They offer personalized umbrellas, and also "Pure & Simple" for less and an organics collection as well.

Bella Umbrella: http://bellaumbrella.com/
Vintage, polka dot, bridal options and more..as well as a rental option!

I Do Originals: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31146814

www.idooriginals.com {more on them later!}

There are also several other options available on Etsy. Check it out!

Hopefully these ideas will start you thinking about turning rain drops into picture perfect moments...

happy first day of fall!

In honor of the first day of fall, some inspiration for a fall wedding or event! We love it!

Pumpkins and apples!

Or think about pears or pomegranates...

We love the idea of the shawls being used as gifts...and how practical are those dresses!

Happy Fall!

something blue...accessories!

{Hair pins from Etsy shops: MGMart & Frostings Jewelry}
Continuing the "something blue" post from last week on shoes, today we feature blue accessories. More fun options!

As a side note (that I probably should have mentioned last week), brides have traditionally worn or had something blue dating back to an Old English rhyme: "Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, a Sixpence in your Shoe." The blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity.

So now...on to the cute blue accessories!

{1st picture: Blue garter from Bridal Fashion Mall}

Several online retailers sell blue garters-some of my favorite are from Cathy's Concepts {featured in 2nd picture above}.

Above, earrings with aqua stones from Turq Bridal {one of my favorite for necklaces and earrings!}.

A note about the hair pins above...Etsy has a lot of great wedding options! Handmade, one-of-a-kind options, very reasonably priced. {and this is true for many items on Etsy--its a must check for brides-to-be who want the DIY style who perhaps don't have the DIY time or creative skill!}

Consider the ways you can accessorize with your "something blue."

Happy Planning!

Fall '09 Bridal and Bridesmaids Collections

{Silk tricotine Sophia short dress from JCrew}

Brides search for months and months for the perfect dress and perfect bridesmaids dresses. I have talked to brides (and we all know stories) of brides who look and look, second guess and think about dresses. Of course you want to look your best & make sure the girls look and feel great....so it deserves this time and energy.

But also look to your favorite stores for great options!

For example, JCrew has introduced their Fall Collection and Ann Taylor has great, new options as well.

Both include modern, chic styles in great colors and styles that fit many body types. Many also coordinate in color and style so all of your girls don't have to match. And, don't forgot those accessories...cute shoes and other items are also available, of course!

As an extra, I also love that they have "real wedding" pictures on their website. You can see how those orange dresses fit and look on real women.

Indy-Area Boutiques

For Indianapolis area boutiques (no, you don't have to go to Cincinnati or Chicago), check out these great options that brides I know have bought dresses at:
Bliss Boutique, Brownsburg
Nancy's Bridal, northside of Indianapolis
Something Old, Something New Bridal Studio, Pendleton
Sophia's Bridal, southside of Indianapolis (many private labels)

If you additional boutiques you love, let me know by leaving a comment!

Happy Shopping!
